Car Wash Kiosks Drive Success for Software Company AMP

Client Summary
Software company AMP focuses on enhancing customer experiences and streamlining operations at car wash locations nationwide. Initially, AMP developed a loyalty mobile app that integrated with existing pay station kiosks at their customers’ locations. In 2023, the company partnered with Frank Mayer to manufacture their own custom Pay Station Kiosk and expand their product offerings.

Kiosks Built for the Demands of Car Washes

AMP wanted self-service solutions that would complement their app, so they tasked Frank Mayer with building car wash kiosks that offered flexible payment options, seamlessly integrated with the AMP mobile app, were constructed from stainless steel to withstand weather and continuous use, and utilized industry-leading touchscreens.

In addition to serving as the point of sale, the kiosks also integrate with License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras and/or RFID readers to efficiently manage unlimited car wash membership plans.

Addressing Pain Points with Smart Kiosk Solutions

Not only did AMP’s car wash kiosks require specific functions, but they posed unique challenges that Frank Mayer helped address.

Cashless Transactions

While AMP’s Pay Station Kiosk is completely cashless, many clients still desired to pay by cash. Frank Mayer developed a standalone Cash Kiosk that lets customers scan a QR code and add money to mobile app accounts. This balance can then be used at the Pay Station Kiosk.

Budget-Friendly Options

To address cost concerns, Frank Mayer created a smaller and more affordable 22” AMP Mini Kiosk as an alternative to the flagship 32” model.

Additional Hardware Solutions

AMP required further enclosures and hardware for many of their clients, including Loading Station Kiosks for tunnel wash queue management, 55” Outdoor Digital Displays, and Mounting Poles for LPR cameras and RFID equipment.

Retrofitting Existing Equipment

Some AMP clients wanted to upgrade existing car wash kiosks without replacing the entire unit. Frank Mayer solved this problem by creating custom retrofit doors that integrate AMP’s equipment and software into existing kiosk enclosures.

A Partnership Built to Deliver Results

Frank Mayer’s collaboration with AMP extends beyond resolving technical challenges. By offering custom powder coating and decals, kiosks align with each car wash’s own branding. Additionally, our end-to-end services – from production and warehousing to direct shipping for installation – simplify program logistics.

Most importantly, though, these car wash kiosks have significantly reduced operational costs for AMP. With minimal issues and very little downtime, the company has experienced less lost revenue and significantly reduced spending on service technicians.
