This is especially true for outdoor kiosks that must withstand a wide range of environmental challenges, from extreme heat and cold to heavy rain and snow. Heat & UV Testing

To verify long-term durability in extreme temperatures, our touchscreens undergo heat and UV exposure testing where they are subject to 160-degree and up temperatures along with extreme UV to simulate the sun. In addition, entire kiosks are tested in our temperature-controlled hotbox that goes beyond 120-degrees Fahrenheit to represent real-world heat scenarios.

Cold Testing

To test performance in the cold, we look no further than our own Wisconsin winters. Our outdoor kiosks are placed outside where they are frequently exposed to subzero temperatures, icy winds, and blizzard-like conditions. We have test kiosks that have lived outside for years, enduring the harshest cold-weather conditions while continuing to operate without issue.

Water Resistance Testing

Weatherproofing is critical for outdoor kiosks. Any water breach can cause malfunctions in the internal equipment, resulting in a broken unit.

To prevent water ingress, we conduct rigorous water spray tests that mimic heavy rain to confirm all seals and gaskets work to keep water out.

Additionally, there’s no better test than relying on actual weather. Those same kiosks that survive our Wisconsin winters also endure rain, sleet, and snow throughout the year to continually monitor that our engineering is effective.
