June - Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. Reveals Educational Interactive Kiosk for Transitions Optical - June 14, 2010

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. has completed the first round of interactive educational kiosks for Transitions Optical. Transitions Optical is the largest supplier of photochromic lenses in the world and is currently testing these units in select retail environments.

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. designed and produced the Transitions Optical interactive kiosk to educate consumers and store personnel regarding the variety of photochromic lens options available. This free-standing kiosk is unique as it incorporates a UV-LED light to simulate outdoor UV rays to allow consumers to experience how quickly Transitions lenses activate when exposed to the UV light.

The kiosk provides:

Consumer Education

  • Understanding the importance of regular eye exams
  • Experiencing the benefits of Transitions lenses in simulated lighting situations
  • Conducting a self-assessment to learn which lens is best for their lifestyle
  • Lens registration
  • Receiving in-store promotions

Product Demonstration
Each Transitions Optical display has 72 UV-LED light bulbs built into the unit. Activated via touchscreen, a demonstration card is placed under the bulbs and within 12 seconds consumers can remove the card and see how the lenses darken when exposed to UV light.

Store Education
Educational programs including various medical conditions and selling tips for eyecare lenses and frames are easily accessed by store personnel.

Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. Introduces Branded Cooler Corners for Convenience Stores - February 17, 2010

Over the past three decades, Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. has designed, engineered and produced a variety of utility items for use in retail environments, including thousands of branded cooler corners. FMA has retained the design rights and production tooling for these popular items and has created a new proprietary program making these available to the retail and related trades on a “made to order” basis, where buyers can choose colors and store branding options.

Branded cooler corners are perfect display solutions for freezer/refrigerator door placement where space is limited in gas station, grocery or convenience store environments. Cooler corner displays provide category management for easy product identification, promotional messages and store branding. Because of the easy, changeable graphics feature, these items can provide retailers with a unique opportunity to use manufacturers’ co-op dollars or create a separate revenue stream selling the space on these versatile units. Packed ten per carton and available in a variety of colors, cooler corners are an exact fit for freezer door placement.


Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. Introduces Made to Order Waste/Trash and Recycle Receptacles - January 19, 2010

Over the past three decades, Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. (FMA) has designed, engineered and produced a variety of utility items for use in retail environments, including thousands of Trash and Recycle Receptacles. FMA has retained the design rights and production tooling for these popular items and has created a new proprietary program making these items available to the retail and related trades on a “made to order” basis, where buyers can choose colors and branding option for quantities as low as 50 or 100 pieces at one time.

These sturdy 2-piece units are rotationally molded from durable polypropylene in a wide range of color choices.  The 17” by 17” by 30” unit has an easy-to-remove top and is designed to hold a standard 33 gallon plastic liner bag.  These units are weather resistant and the color goes through the material to help hide the effects of normal wear and tear.

In addition to color choices, these units can be “Made-to-Order”, with features including permanent graphics and branding, as well as interchangeable graphic panels to meet specific messaging and advertising needs.  Each unit is packed one per carton, with shipping to US continental destinations included in the price. 

Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. also offers a Waste Receptacle with a built-in Windshield Service Center, specifically for the retail gasoline and convenience store market.  This 18” by 18½” by 30” unit has a convenient wire towel holder and easy-to-remove, convenient, built-in windshield washer bucket in addition to all the features and durability of the basic Waste/Trash Receptacle.

FMA owns the rights and tooling to these “Made-to-Order” items, and has produced thousands of these to date. Buyers of these items not only have the assurance of their reliable field performance in a wide range of retail environments, but can also take advantage of cost-effective pricing without the normal design and tooling costs.  These items are perfect for convenience and fast food stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and any other high traffic public space.  As part of sell-in efforts, FMA can also help develop and administer custom incentive programs and/or create and manage a supplier co-op program to underwrite part of the cost per location.


Introducing "Slide-Ability" to On-Shelf Merchandising - December 20, 2009

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. is introducing a new version of its recent Slide-Buy* shelf- talker display.  Like the initial version with a video screen, this unit can be affixed to most standard gondolas, and slide on a track to access products on most retail shelves.  The actual unit extends the Slide-Buy merchandiser’s flexibility by supporting changeable low relief vac-formed inserts, up to 8-1/2” by 11” changeable graphics, an acrylic or wire form literature holder, or even a vac-formed product sample tub weighing up to three pounds.  Featuring sturdy steel construction, these units can be powder coated in a wide range of colors to meet most branding needs.

This highly visible approach to managing wide varieties of retail categories moves easily with just a touch of a finger.  Its size, versatility, and “slide-ability” makes it a perfect low cost category management tool in a wide variety of retail configurations from home centers and supermarkets to specialty and hardware stores.  It is the answer to effectively merchandising on-shelf without restricting critical product access or re-stocking efforts.

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. is rolling out one-of-a-kind Red Robin® restaurant gift card merchandiser to over 350 locations nationwide. This custom merchandiser for Red Robin creates a point-of-sale display for branded gift cards.

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. designed and produced these uniquely branded floor-standing displays to merchandise Red Robin gift cards, envelopes and to-go menus.  Each display holds over 100 gift cards and features updatable graphic panels to create branded messages for upcoming promotions, holidays and menu specials.  Gift card merchandiser placement at the front of the restaurant allows convenient and easy consumer access.

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. has just completed production of the new illy iperEspresso Kiosk for release to retail.  This new interactive kiosk for illy Caffé North America, Inc. provides a non-traditional communication vehicle to engage consumers and create excitement about illy’s new iperEspresso System.

Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc. designed and produced floor and counter versions of the kiosk.  The strategy of the kiosk is to create an interactive, educational merchandising unit to gain prime real estate in strategic retail and café accounts in illy’s top markets.  Consumers can educate themselves on the product through looping video and choose from four different content selections to learn more about illy, the new iperEspresso System, iperEspresso machines, or how to make a cappuccino.  One or two iperEspresso machines can be displayed on the unit allowing for product demonstration to further generate sales of the espresso product merchandised on the kiosk shelves, as well as the machines.
